106-08.30 The IMS intermediate axle upgrade for the Porsche M97 Motor My06-08 uses a special adapter bus that transforms the larger bearing tap to accept the Single Row Pro Ims Retrofit (included), so that the IMS-bearing can be maintained after the engine's engine. Future dismantling of the engine. Ideal for a complete motor overhaul, maintenance is now easy!
Which bearing?
- 1997-1999: This engine had an IMS with two rows of bearings.
- 2000-2001: These engines came from the factory with either a double row or a single row IMS bearing. A single row flange is 19.27 mm deep and a double row flange is 13.34 mm deep.
- 2002-2005: This engine had a single row IMS bearing. Some late production 2005 models have a non-serviceable IMS.
- 2006-2008: These engines are equipped with a larger bearing, easily identified by the 22 mm central nut, which cannot be serviced without completely disassembling the engine. Removing the IMS bearing grease seal will ensure proper lubrication of the original bearing.
- If the engine in your car has been replaced, it will have the IMS bearing that was in production for that model year of manufacture for the replacement engine.
